Bald Performance Art Shaved Head Again
Willow Smith has shaved her hair off over again, but this time in the proper name of art.
The 19-year-old Cerise Table Talk star teamed upwardly with her musical collaborator, Tyler Cole, for a 24-hr functioning about anxiety at the Museum of Contemporary Art's Geffen Contemporary in Los Angeles on Wednesday, which at i point, included Tyler cut Willow's pilus then eventually shaving her head. The performance showed Willow and Tyler going through viii stages of feet while inside a glass box, and on Friday, the pair'south band, The Anxiety, released their self-titled debut album.
Willow's mom, Jada Pinkett Smith, proudly documented moments from her daughter's fine art functioning on her Instagram Story.
"The start of the new showtime," she wrote with a heart emoji as Tyler cut Willow's braids.
More than moments during the art operation that Jada captured included Willow dancing in bunny ears and writing on a wall. The "Whip My Hair" vocalizer also held up a sign that read, "When yous practice patience ... you are emulating the ... very spirit of nature."
Jada later posted video of Tyler shaving Willow'south hair off, and referenced Willow famously shaving her head when she was eleven years erstwhile.
"@willowsmith at her interactive experience," Jada wrote. "My infant shaved her head! Over again!"
On Friday, Tyler reflected on the 24-hour performance.
"I'k going to need some time to procedure that experience before I really say annihilation but I will say thank you so much to everyone who came out to MOCA and watched the live stream," he wrote on Insgtagram. "I am truly overwhelmed. In that location is a lot going on in the world and I think THE Anxiety reflects how a lot of us feel correct now. Willow also posted about the new anthology and her feel, writing, "Special S/O to all the beautiful folks who came out to experience our performance art at The GEFFEN Contemporary @moca ❤️ information technology was truly a magical experience for me // I hope the vibrations from these songs soothes your eye similar your love and support soothes mine."
In a 2022 interview with Haute Living, Willow's begetter, Will Smith, candidly talked about Willow shockingly shaving her caput after the success of her striking, "Whip My Pilus," and him having to learn how to permit become of his expectations for her.
"One of the major things that happened is that I hit that midlife-crisis point, where I've built all of the things I've ever dreamed of," he shared. "And in terms of Willow, I just love that she gets to sit at that table with her female parent and grandmother and hear their life stories and their experiences and gets to sit and talk to brilliant people," he said. "Information technology's a spectacular didactics for Willow. I'k humbled when I watch that girl concur her own on that red table at eighteen. And I also look at the red tabular array and call back, 'I'chiliad doing something right.'"
